Wax And Cream Hair Removal Products

There are several ways to remove unsightly back hair growth. There are of course, the more permanent solutions like electrolysis, laser and the nono hair removal methods; but these can be pricey, at the very least.

Expensive options:

  • The no-no hair removal system is by far the least expensive of the permanent hair removal methods. However, the device alone can cost you around $250 dollars already.
  • Electrolysis ranges from $20 to $250 per hour on a multiple, long term treatment package.
  • Laser treatments range from $1,500 to $2,500 for the entire treatment package.

If you are looking into back hair removal alternatives that are less painful on the wallet, you could try using wax or cream products. These may be temporary, but both products have their own guarantee of working just fine.

Wax and Cream Products Work!

What Is Waxing?

Waxing is what we call an epilation process: a semi-permanent method of removing body hair by pulling the follicles from the roots. Eventually hair will grow back in the waxed area, but (depending on your physical constitution) you may have as much as 2 to 6 weeks before you would need to wax the area again. Waxing can be applied to almost every part of the body, including the abdomen, the arms, the bikini area, feet, legs, parts of the face like the eyebrows, and of course, the back area.

Precautions…

However, waxing is not recommended for everyone. Medical practitioners advise against this especially for people who have:

  • Diabetes, or women with pronounced varicose veins.
    • People afflicted with these medical conditions often suffer also from poor circulation and are therefore more susceptible to the onset of infection. Plus, when an unfortunate event happens, it would take these individuals a longer period of time to recuperate. Diabetics, in particular have slower healing processes, which basically lengthens the time they are susceptible to infection.
  • People who also take certain medications like Differin, Isotretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, etc, are also advised not to undergo waxing treatment.
    • These drugs tend to weaken the skin’s constitution and may thereby bring injury to the person.
  • Also, waxing should never be done on people who have these type of skin imperfections on their backs:
    • Broken skin
    • Chapped skin
    • Irritated skin
    • Moles
    • Peeling and sunburned skin
    • Pimples
    • Rashes and
    • Warts

The more common waxing products in the market these days are cold wax treatment and hot wax treatment.

What Is Hair Removal Cream?

Using hair removal cream on your back, on the other hand, is a depilation process – to be more precise, a chemical depilation process. This is a cosmetic preparation that breaks down the disulfide bonds in the hair’s keratin, and thereby weakening its “hold” on the roots. This makes it easier to scrape the hair off using a smooth and blunt spatula. Unlike waxing though, cream hair removal treatments work for a relatively shorter time; certain individuals need to use the product again in as little as two days.

The use of hair removal cream can also cause allergic reactions and skin irritations in some individuals; it would be best to try out a small patch of skin first before using the entire product on your back. Nonetheless, the great thing about creams is that they are very inexpensive, and yes, they work rapidly on excessive back hair growth. Some products work in as little as 3 to 6 minutes. And there are now some cream-based hair removal products that are guaranteed to work even on the toughest (thick-fibered) back hairs.
