Back Hair Removal For Men

Yes, it is true. When it comes to body hair, women have always been more conscious (and definitely more energetic) about removing it. The practice of hair removal dates back to the start of all ancient civilizations – from Chinese, Egyptian, Mayan, Greek and Roman civilizations. Human kind’s idea of physical beauty has evolved to the point where hairlessness was and still is considered ideal.

Changing Social Perspective

Once thought to be vanity and un-man like, hair shaving in men took a long while (and we mean, a very long while…) to catch up with the women. In our present time, though, there are surging populations of men who are finding many benefits to shaving body hair.

Professionals know best…

At first, professional athletes such as body builders removed body hair as a means to promote their musculature. Naturally, it is easy enough to get distracted from looking at the contours of the muscles when there is too much hair growth on the male body.

Eventually, they discovered that less body hair while working out means more surface area for sweat to come out, helping cool the body during strenuous activities. At the same time, a smoother body is less prone to body odor.

The average Joe…

For the average man, however, excessive hair, especially in the back area can cause as a problem to personal grooming and hygiene. Excessive back hair growth is further compounded by the fact that this is one area of the body that is most difficult to work on by yourself. Some of the more accepted reasons include:

  • The removal of back hair is simply a matter of aesthetics; they do not find it attractive to be carrying man pelt in that area.
  • To others, back hair increases the chances of retaining heat and sweat, which in turn will increase the chances of having unflattering body odor.
  • And to others still, a smoother back is a confidence booster.

Fortunately enough, the stigma of men having their hair removed is almost lifted from most present day civilizations. Some men, due to cultural and religious reasons, still prefer a bit of hair on their bodies. And yes, there are still those who think hat hair removal for any part of the body is strictly women’s affairs.

Options for men…

However, men who would rather do away with excessive hair growth are now seen as regular customers to waxing salons or dermatological clinics. In recent years, there are also a lot more products being introduced that are specifically targeting men who wish to eradicate unsightly hair growth. Two good examples of these, (aside from the various shaving creams and razors for facial hair removal) would be the Nair and Razoba. Razroba, in particular is a product designed by a man, for men who want to perform self back hair removal.

Other hair removal products in the market include the likes of Nair which is a chemical depilatory, or in simpler terms Nair is all about hair removal creams; sugaring products and waxes – and most of them are tailor fitted for men’s tougher hair fibers and more denser coats.

There is also every reliable razor and tweezers that are man products. Hand held devices like the no-no hair removal system as with the Razorba are also having their share of regular male patrons.

More aggressive measures include: waxing in salons, electrolysis and laser treatments which do not really choose the gender of their patrons.
